Maplewood Fire & Police Dept.
This project included construction of a new station site on the 3M campus in Maplewood that houses four apparatus bays, departmental offices and a police substation. It is the first Minnesota building that meets international standards for green construction being built with environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in mind. The site has rain gardens, native plants and a solar reflective roof. It was constructed with recycled materials including windows that increase natural light, efficient appliances and plumbing fixtures that use less water.
