Carleton College Class of 1974 Center

The Class of 1974 Center at Carleton College transformed the vision of a modern health and wellness hub into reality, delivering a facility that prioritizes accessibility, privacy, and functionality. A major focus was the new Student Health and Counseling Center, designed to provide comprehensive physical and mental health services in a purpose-built environment. The space includes offices for nurses and nurse practitioners, medical exam rooms, counseling therapy offices, and specialized therapy rooms. Additional features such as a pharmacy, laboratory, blood draw alcove, clean medical procedure room, and areas for medical records storage supporting delivery of high-quality care. From the early planning stages, we worked closely with BWBR and campus stakeholders to ensure the building met the unique needs of Student Health and Counseling, the Office of Accessibility Resources, and the Title IX Office. The project required integrating advanced mechanical systems for comfort and safety and maintaining LEED Platinum sustainability standards throughout construction. Seeing the center come to life underscored the importance of our work. This building isn’t just bricks and mortar; it’s a commitment to student well-being that will serve generations of Carleton students.
