Apple Valley Hayes Park Youth Baseball / Softball Complex

The City of Apple Valley undertook a major redevelopment of Hayes Park to create a premier youth baseball and softball complex that will serve the community for decades. The project replaced four aging fields with a newly reconfigured, tournament-ready “wheel” layout designed to improve playability, safety, and the overall spectator experience.

The project included the construction of four full-size youth baseball/softball fields featuring irrigated natural turf, 240-foot outfield fencing, covered dugouts, field lighting, and electronic scoreboards. Supporting improvements included new hardscape and landscaping, pedestrian connections, site utilities, drainage infrastructure, and integration with the adjacent Apple Valley Community Center and Senior Center. Stormwater features, including rain gardens, were incorporated to enhance site sustainability. In addition, the project included the careful relocation of an existing gazebo from Kelley Park to Hayes Park, preserving a valued community feature while enhancing gathering and spectator opportunities within the new complex.
