Minnesota Army National Guard Readiness Center
The project involved constructing a new 40,374 SF Readiness Center for the Minnesota Army National Guard, serving as the battalion headquarters and supporting both full-time staff and weekend drill operations. The facility included an assembly hall, classrooms, conference rooms, offices, fitness center, kitchen with walk-in freezer and cooler, locker rooms, restrooms, and a concrete-encased gun vault. A 3,200 SF unconditioned storage building was also constructed. The building featured insulated precast panels, a Double-T and EPDM roofing system, polished concrete floors, a feature metal entryway, and LEED Silver design elements including daylight harvesting and solar tubes. Mechanical systems included a 154-well geothermal heat pump system and a 15 kW solar array. Security measures included blast ratings, ballistic doors, and Kevlar-lined vestibule frames.
